313 Day: The Best Detroit Spots for Photos

For most people, today is just March 13th. To people living in/near Detroit, it’s 313 Day! This day was created to celebrate the city of Detroit and its history, culture, artists, successes, businesses, culture, and more. There are so many things to love about Detroit, but one of our favorite things about the Motor City is that it’s so fun to photograph people there! Here are some of our most-loved Detroit spots for photography sessions:

Eastern Market

Three words to describe Eastern Market are: colorful, artistic, and bold. Many talented artists have designed murals in the area which make the best backgrounds for photos!

Downtown Detroit

Overall, Detroit is an inspiring city for creative people. There are so many great artists that are in Detroit, and it shows. The downtown has so many fun spots to photograph at, such as The Belt.

Detroit Riverwalk

This is another good location that has variety. You can get bright, vibrant colors, the city, and nature!

The DIA

The Detroit Institute of Arts is the perfect location to photograph at if you want to wear formal wear, such as a prom dress. The marble and gold accents are so elegant and timeless.

Belle Isle

Belle Isle offers a lot of variety if you want different looks! We like the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory and the Belle Isle Casino.

J’adore

This industrial-meets-chic venue is located in Eastern Market, and it has so many cool props and furniture to use for photoshoots! There is plenty of natural light that comes in the space, so you do not really need to bring anything other than a camera. Unlike the other locations listed in this blog post, you have to book this loft!
